Hi guys,

With the rise of COVID-19, we have noticed that many Latin students are struggling with finding online resources to practice/reinforce the fundamental skills of Latin. As a result, we have created a comprehensive website that hopes to assist you in reinforcing the majority of these skills. You can access this website at www.latinamicus.com. In addition, you can let us know about your thoughts and potential bugs in our discord: https://discord.gg/tPDYTsWU6u. For now, we’ll give you guys a brief rundown of all of the features.

This website will be released in three versions, detailed below:

VERSION 1.0:
Feature #1 - Case Use: There are six cases of Latin nouns that are commonly used. However, each case has many different grammatical functions, and understanding these different uses is essential to properly understand Latin sentences. In this feature, you can interactively learn about all the types of uses for a particular case.
Feature #2 - Mood Use: There are six moods of Latin verbs that are commonly used. However, each mood has many different grammatical functions, and understanding these different uses is essential to properly understand Latin sentences. In this feature, you can interactively learn about all the types of uses for a particular mood.
Feature #3 - Form Practice: In this feature, you can practice your word forms. First, you can either enter a word or choose a random word. Then, you can list all of the forms you know for the word, and compare your responses to the answers. Macrons are supported. This is recommended for all ranges of students who are trying to learn and/or memorize form endings.

VERSION 2.0:
In addition to fixing potential bugs, we will add the following features and updates in version 2.0:
NEW UPDATE FOR Form Practice: This update will focus on improving the “random word” option that the user can choose. Currently, users can choose either a random noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, or participle. In this update, users now have the ability to specify certain conjugations & declensions they want to practice. For example, they can specify if they want to only practice the 1st & 2nd conjugations and not the 3rd & 4th conjugations for verbs.
NEW FEATURE -- Vocab Practice: In this feature, users can practice memorizing their vocabulary (meaning of Latin words). They can choose to practice nouns, verbs, adjectives, and much more. These words, drawn from the Cambridge Latin Course, will provide the user with a solid foundation of vocabulary upon practice. Missed words will be re-asked & consistently correct words will not be repeated. This is recommended for all ranges of students who are trying to reinforce their vocabulary.
NEW FEATURE -- Parser: In this feature, you can enter any Latin word in any form, and the program will parse the word. The parser identifies all the possible forms of the word, provides the dictionary meaning, and lists the word in all of its various forms. This is recommended for all ranges of students who are trying to learn more about the properties of a word.

VERSION 3.0:
In addition to fixing potential bugs, we will add the following features and updates in version 3.0:
NEW FEATURE - Login/Register System: This login/register system will allow the user to create an account. This account will be beneficial for the features of Form Practice and Vocab Practice. With their account, the user can browse through their past words, including the words that they missed & got right. They can also start a quiz that will only test them on words that they missed. Furthermore, the user can see other statistics about their usage through their profile dashboard.
NEW FEATURE -- Pronunciation: In this feature, users can practice their pronunciation techniques. A random Latin sentence will be presented, upon which the users can pronounce each word in the sentence using a microphone. After they speak the sentence, a detailed analysis of the words they got right & wrong will be presented.
Feel free to use this website in whatever way you want, and feel free to share this website with your friends and teachers. Again, you can access the site at www.latinamicus.com and our discord server at https://discord.gg/tPDYTsWU6u. Hope this helps and makes Latin a little bit easier and more fun to learn!
