I’ve been using this book and I hope there aren’t too many wrong things in there...
Nah, it was just some bad induction on my part due to scarcity of data. I actually checked LLPSI after reading Pacifica's message, and I couldn't find any example of that construction used with a noun.

And by the way, as to your doubts about the accuracy of LLPSI's content, I don't think I've ever read anything bad about it. There might be exceptions I haven't heard of, but I think it's generally regarded as good Latin. Some people criticize its teaching method (and my mistake shows that there's at least a grain of truth in some of those criticisms) but that's another subject.
