Oratores vero Romani eloquentiam Latinam...

I'm sure it's fairly obvious but I can't see it. What is the 'vero Romani' doing in this sentence?

Unfortunately the fragment of the sentence does not make sense on itself.

Romani obviously agrees with oratores; vero is a post-positive conjunction.
