Salvete :)

In a learning app (Cattus), I was asked to translate the sentence

"We are friends".

My translation: "Amici sumus".

My reasoning: "Sumus" (esse) is a copula verb, 1st person plural. Hence, its subject should be plural, too.

This was marked wrong. The correct translation, according to the app: "Amicus sumus".

My questions: Who is right -- my app or me? And why? Many thanks in advance! :)

Great, thanks!

That's disappointing, though -- so far I liked the app :( (I'm always fond of apps that feature a cute animal, and so far I agreed with it). Unfortunately, they don't have an option (unlike Duolingo) to report errors. Such a pity.

(Oh, wow -- I hadn't seen their website :D :rofl-green: )
