To mihi or not to mihi….

I’m wanting to translate “Forgive me, Lord.”

I know this translates as “Ignosce mihi Domine,” but I’m trying to figure out if I can get away with not including “mihi” and still having the same meaning / proper grammar.

Basically, does “Ignosce Domine,” work?

Yes. Latin can easily leave things like that implied. If you omit mihi, it just isn't explicit that the person in need of forgiveness is "me"—in theory it could be "us" or "them" or whoever—but "me" is the most default object to assume since more often than not, when you ask someone's forgiveness, it's for yourself.
