Hello, I was just wondering if I could get some help translating the above phrase "This is part of me now".
I would be so grateful, my GCSE Latin was rather a long time ago! I am interested in getting this as a tattoo, not just because of the obvious meaning of the phrase, it can be applied to many parts of my life, as well as things to be considered for the future. I realise it's gender specific, this is for me so it refers to a female.

Hello, I would translate this as hoc nunc est pars mei, but I'm not sure whether the expression being part of works when litterally translated like this into Latin. Let's wait for others' advice.

Disputable alternatives with membrum or ∅ instead of pars, and with now replaced by the perfect tense of fio might be:

• hoc membrum meum factum est
• hoc meum factum est

If hoc can be removed, then you have:

• meum factum est

I think Pacis Puella's translation is right, though I might prefer 'iam' to 'nunc' ('iam' better suits the meaning of 'now' as opposed to 'before'); as for 'pars mei,' one of Horace's odes contains the line,

"Non omnis moriar multaque pars mei"

So I think it's certainly acceptable in that sense (it's called the partitive genitive, after all...)
