Here I will post new technical updates of the forum I've done recently.
(I may also be deleting messages from this particular thread that could be somehow 'off-topic' or distracting)

- The Donation button has now appeared in the right side of the forum in the thread overview page. You can support us now easily! (the forum costs around $1500 a year)

- Donors to the forum can now receive a green ribbon placed under their nickname and avatar that says "PATRONUS" or "PATRONA" (and the ribbon can be turned off or on in your Preferences)

- Other ribbons have been introduced as well (distinguished regulars are shown as 'Civis Illustris' with a pink ribbon, the moderators have their own ribbons and ranks as well).​

- The forum is now more friendly for wide-screen users (a long message may take fewer lines than before), if your browser is in fullscreen and you don't use too large zoom.

- the old header with the Roman busts (and a little seal of approval) is back (you may have noticed already)

- You can set now a CUSTOM AVATAR SHAPE in your Preferences - either a square, a circle, or something in between! (whatever befits the picture you upload or your mood )

If you are a premium user (like when you become a DONOR* to the forum), you can set now in your PREFERENCES a

CUSTOM SHAPE OF YOUR AVATAR

*the forum needs around $1500 a year for its costs and the donors are the only source of its income!

It looks like this:

+ Square and squares with rounded corners (you can set the percentage of how rounded it is yourself: it will either be closer to the square, something in between or closer to the circle):

This option has been introduced a month ago for everyone as a trial version / a demonstration, but it was intended for premium users. The default shape is a circle.

So if you wish to use these cool shapes, please support the forum, become a donor! ​

RECENT STATUS UPDATE ON THE MAIN PAGE ADDED

The donation link in the upper red menu and the donation button on the homepage lead now again to the forum Paypal account. You can donate to help the forum's running costs.

Thanks to us changing the hosting plan a year and a half ago, we still have some credit left and are therefore still covered for a while with the past donation fund raiser from 2021. But there will inevitably come time when we won't be and it would be better if we start gathering donations in advance than in the last minute again.

If you send some helpful posts to the Latin sections of the forum and feel like you have helped someone, you may as well politely ask the helped person to consider donating a little, if they feel like it (even $5 is a good way to say thanks).
