morituri te salutamus

Am I correct in thinking that this was in fact what the gladiators in the arena shouted out to the emperor (prefaced of course by "ave Caesar" or "ave imperator").

Some character on Youtube maintains that what they shouted was "morituri te salutant" ... that they were speaking in the third person plural. I find this unlikely; is there a source which states authoritatively what exactly the gladiators did shout out prior to combat ?

Suetonius agrees with the YouTube character: proclamantibus naumachiariis: 'haue imperator, morituri te salutant!' respondisset: 'aut non'. (Div. Claud. 21.6.)
