I am reading Paradise Lost by John Milton. Tobit is mentioned in Book 5.
"With pity Heav'n's high King, and to him called Raphael, the sociable Spirit, that deigned to travel with Tobias, and secured his marriage with the seven-times-wedded maid."
I did not know Tobias's angel friend was called Raphael. Probably because I was not paying enough attention.

Liber Tobiae 5,16-18
cui Tobias respondit rogo te indica mihi de qua domo aut de qua tribu es tu
cui Refahel angelus dixit genus quaeris mercennarii an ipsum mercennarium qui cum filio tuo eat
sed ne forte sollicitum te reddam ego sum Azarias Ananiae magni filius

Are angels supposed to tell whoppers like that?

The King James originally included the Apocrypha as non-canonical but important. They were omitted during the Puritan period.
The KJV apocrypha are still available if you wish to read them. They are online, such as this site. They are also available as a separate collection in print, and as modules in some Bible software.
