1. Put your request in the LATIN BEGINNERS FORUM.
2. Start your subject with HW:
3. POST YOUR OWN ATTEMPT at answering the question. If you fail to do so, your post will be deleted. Please state clearly what issues you are having difficulty with.
4. DO NOT post the output of Google translate as your own work. It will only make you look stupid.

It is always obvious when you post school work. Pretending your homework is something else is fraudulent and may get you expelled from your academic institution. It will irritate the members of the forum, and you if you try it, you will receive a warning. You will be banned for repeat violations.

We are all keen Latinists, and happy to help you understand how to answer your assignment. We will not, however, help you to cheat. If you cannot answer the question at all, we will be unable to help you. You need to discuss your problem with your teacher urgently.

How do we know it is homework?

If I posted, "This is a ball. This is a train. This is a dog." Would you think it is Shakespeare? Chaucer perhaps?

Modern English is written in short sharp sentences. This is very unlike the structure of classical Latin prose. Your textbook is written simply to make it easy for you to learn. It is unmistakably, however, English written in Latin.

Even if your book says that the passage comes from a real Roman author, it will have been simplified. Many of us have read the originals, and will recognise the difference.

Plagiarism

We try to assist people with learning and understanding Latin, however we have no intention of helping them to cheat. If you find that one of the topics on the forum is being used for plagiarism, please report it to the moderators and we will modify or delete it.

If the help you receive means that the work is no longer your own you MUST reference our site and the individual threads in your assignment.
