(This is the closest sub-forum I could find for Caesar, so feel free to transfer to a better location if it exists.)

I'm looking for your recommendations for resources for De Bello Civili in print. I would like to find a good Latin edition, along with an English translation or two and perhaps some commentary as well. I tend to favor the older publications if possible. I imagine that Greenough's lexicon in his 1898 DBG will be helpful, along with Cassell's dictionary. Any ideas?

I can't speak on its quality, but for the text and translation, your best bet is the fairly recent Loeb.

And not sure if you can find a copy in print given its age, but here's a commentary.

Okay, thanks for the recommendations. I was able to order a copy of Moberly's Commentary (1880) , and a Latin text from Dinter (1904). The Loeb edition I'll check out from the public library; and I've got already an English translation from McDevitte, so I should be set.

What about maps? Do you know of anything in print for DBC?

The edition called The Landmark Julius Caesar contains a translation of Caesar's complete works with very helpful explanatory notes, diagrams, maps, pictures of relevant coins/inscriptions, etc. I haven't used it for De Bello Civili but I've used it for DBG 7 and found it very helpful.

That Landmark Julius Caesar I would say is helpful overall, but it's mainly an English translation of the text, with some aids as you say. I think however that I would like to find something more purely focused on maps, but my quick searches haven't found anything. I've seen something similar for biblical study under the genre of "atlas", and I found some for the American Civil War.
