Yeah, A typo, lol, I meant 'non'.. thanks! Now I grasp the meaning.. cum+perfect = since

Not always. Only in this kind of context where you've got some amount of time in the main clause like sex horae sunt.

I think that should rather be cum edi. It's been five hours from the time you ate, not from the time that you didn't eat.
