Interesting. I never knew the standard word, because in Najdi it's pronounced flūs rather than fulūs.

It clearly says toward the beginning (a part I hadn't really read at first) that the Persian word in composed of "(QDM /abar/, “up, on, over”) + [Book Pahlavi needed] (MGLTA) / [Book Pahlavi needed] (nʾmk' /nāmag/, “book, letter”)".
