I am in the 4th year textbook of the Allyn & Bacon series (aka Jenney). The series started in 1913 or earlier, but my books are copyrighted in the 50s and 60s.
Someone has a blog where he has listed all of the editions he could find of various Latin textbooks. (The Latin part starts about a quarter way down the page.) http://fortmarinus.com/blog/
Among others, he covers the Allyn & Bacon series.
In Jenney, virtually all grammar and most syntax is in 1st year, Caesar predominates 2nd year, Cicero the 3rd, and Vergil the 4th.
I have seen vague indications online that the series was watered down in the 70s. Can anyone shed some light on that?
