Dignity and an empty sack is (sic) worth the sack

Hi all,

So, I'm trying to translate an expression I'm fond of: "Dignity and an empty sack is (sic) worth the sack."

I wanted to get a second opinion on this:

pendo dignitatis et vacui sacci saccus solus est

I was hoping for a second set of eyes, esp since I'm not 100% on "pendo" being the best translation of "worth" in this context.

That's true. Your translation makes no sense at all
