I think it's great that you are learning Hittite! I'm starting with Akkadian this October and have been eyeing Hittite as well--mostly because it's an indo-European language that uses Cuneiform.

My department offers a revolving set of "smaller" ancient languages and Hittite is one of them. I've looked at past semester catalogues, but while Hittite classes are offered, the professors unfortunatly didn't bother to list literature suggestions online.

A possible suggestion for find learning sources: send an e-mail to a professor or two and ask for their recommendations. You're in Belgium right? Université Catholique Louvain should be a good place to start. If that doesn't help, let me know. I can ask some of the professors who taught those Hittite classes for suggestions, but I won't be on campus for a couple of weeks.

Another suggestion: https://www.eisenbrauns.com They sell academic texts on the Ancient Near East & Biblical times. They have a couple of Hittite books, but are US based so shipping is a bit hefty for Europe.

I think I should start exercising, so that I can live long enough to study ancient Mesopotamian and Semitic languages as well...

Oh my gosh I know what I'm bringing to my department's end of year party!

I certainly won't. If I baked some of these there's a high chance they could be mistaken for the real thing.

Aw, shoot. I got really excited for a minute.

Is there anyone learning or interested in Mesopotamian languages here?

This is rather challenging, no?

Well, I can't find misākki in a dictionary, so probably. Or maybe sakinumi.

I guess it ought to be (the passive means 'be dear, loved'), but I'm not sure if the active is attested. It's also possible that it's a -hi verb (āssiyahhi).
